Monster Bulls is Monster Fun... For a Good Cause

Monster Bulls is Monster Fun... For a Good Cause

They’re fierce. They’re feisty. They’re bred to buck! That’s right, the bulls are back! Join us Saturday, February 10th for the 7th Annual Monster Bulls event here at the Silver Spurs Arena and see our bulls (and others) take on riders from around the country at one of the best rodeos in Florida in the most extreme sport of ‘em all!

bull riding in Florida

Bull riding is one of the most unique athletic events in the world! It’s man vs. animal at its finest. The beauty is that both athletes – the cowboy and the bull – are not adversaries. They’re more like partners, brought together by fate for eight seconds (or less)! The riders aren’t just trying to hang on, they’re aiming for style, too. And so are the bulls. The Spurs has built a reputation for having some of the “baddest” and “rankest” in the business. Trust us, that’s a good thing! Our buddy Hang ‘Em High and our very own Caleb Sanderson, a winning bull rider raised in the Spurs Club, made it all the way to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo this year! And our boys No Say I, Stinky Sanchez, and Fingers are primed and ready to go for Saturday’s action-packed competition where prize money will be on the line. Monster Bulls riders earn their spots from competing in bull riding events at rodeos in Florida that are sanctioned by the Southern States Bull Riders association. The event starts with all 24 riders broken up into three groups, with the two top performers from each round advancing to the short go (the finals). The winner of the final round takes home the Monster Bulls title! It’ll be hard fought for sure, with plenty of ups, downs and thrill-a-minute fun.The Silver Spurs Club has been raising rodeo livestock since we formed more than 70 years ago. Most of our bulls, horses, and calves are raised at the Spurs’ ranch in Kenansville, about 25 miles south of St. Cloud. It’s more than a hobby. It’s an art and a science. Did you know, for example, that a bull’s ability to buck and thrash isn’t determined by his temperament? It’s determined mostly by breeding and his desire to participate. Yep, you can’t really train a bull to buck. He’s either got it in him, or he doesn’t. It takes breeders years to get a bull ready to buck like those you’ll see at Saturday night’s event. They’ll be in rare form, ready to give you the show of a lifetime! As an added bonus, it’s Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night! One dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to Florida Hospital Foundation to be used for breast cancer research, treatment, and support. So save the date for Saturday, February 9th to watch some of the best bull riders try to hold on to some of rankest Silver Spurs bulls at the 8th Annual Monster Bulls. Then, next weekend, join us for the 142nd Silver Spurs Rodeo to enjoy a night full of rodeo action from events like bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, team roping, tie-down roping and steer wrestling. Hope to see y’all then!
