miss SILVER SPURS frequently asked questions

How long does each performance last?
Each performance lasts about three hours.
What rodeo events take place during the Sliver Spurs Rodeo?
During each Silver Spurs Rodeo performance, you’ll be able to see all seven traditional rodeo events: bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing.
Are there any camera restrictions?
Yes. As the Silver Spurs Rodeo is a Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) sanctioned event, certain photography and media guidelines attendees and media must adhere to.

Only PRCA card- or permit-holding photographers and credentialed media photographers may shoot photos on the rodeo grounds using a professional lens. Fans may take photos from the stands, but only with cell phones or small cameras with no extended or detachable lenses.
What is the order of events during the rodeo?
Each performance of the February Silver Spurs Rodeo will start with Bull Riding followed by Steer Wrestling, Bareback, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc, Tie Down, and Barrel Racing, and then will finish with a second section of Bull Riding. During our June Silver Spurs Rodeo performance, the rodeo schedule will be the same as mentioned above, with the inclusion of junior bull riding before Junior Barrel Racing after our adult barrel racing competition.
How can I compete in the Silver Spurs Rodeo?
To learn more about how you can compete in our rodeos, please check out our Contestant Information page.
What time do doors open?
Doors will open an hour before each rodeo performance time. For example, if the Silver Spurs Rodeo is set to begin at 7:30 p.m., doors will open at 6:30 p.m. However, if there is extreme weather taking place before the doors are set to open, the doors will be opened early to ensure attendees’ safety.
