Seventh-Generation Osceola County Native Henry Thacker selected as 2026 - 2027 Big Boss Of The Silver Spurs Club

KISSIMMEE, Fla. July 13, 2025 - The Silver Spurs Club has elected Henry Thacker as its 2026–2027 Big Boss. A seventh-generation Osceola County resident, Thacker brings years of involvement with the club and continues a family legacy of leadership as the first person in the organization's history whose mother and father both previously served as Big Boss.

Before being elected as Big Boss, Thacker served five years as Old Bossy (Treasurer), helping to oversee the organization's financial stewardship and supporting the club's mission to serve the community. He follows in the footsteps of his parents, Clarence and Jo Thacker, who each previously served as Big Boss, continuing a tradition of volunteerism, leadership and dedication to the Western way of life.

"It is an incredible honor to serve as Big Boss of the Silver Spurs Club," said Thacker. "This organization has meant so much to my family and to Osceola County for generations. Our club has always been rooted in family, tradition and service, and those values will continue to guide us. I look forward to working alongside our volunteers as we continue preserving our traditions, strengthening our impact in the community and ensuring the Silver Spurs Club remains strong for future generations."

The Silver Spurs Club has always been a family tradition for the Thackers. Henry and his wife, Melissa, are raising their two sons, Jon and Murray, around the values of rodeo, volunteerism and community service. Like generations before them, the Thacker family remains actively involved in the Silver Spurs Club, continuing a legacy of service that reflects the organization's family-first culture.

As Big Boss, Thacker will lead the volunteer organization through another year of rodeos, scholarships, charitable giving and community events that strengthen the Silver Spurs Club's impact across Osceola County alongside the other 12 board members. The remaining board members are as follows:

Founded in 1944, the Silver Spurs Club is a 501(c)(5) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the Western way of life.
