February 2018 Silver Spurs Rodeo Results and Your Champions

The 140th Silver Spurs Rodeo took place Friday, February 16th through Sunday, February 18th, featuring rodeo’s seven traditional events: bull riding, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding, barrel racing, and team roping. With more than $100,000 in prize money up for grabs, top cowboys and cowgirls from across North America came to compete during this rodeo to claim their share of the prize. Below are the results for the top three winning contestants from each rodeo event.

All-around cowboy: Bart Brunson, $3,478, tie-down roping and team roping

Steer wrestling:

1. Denell Henderson, 3.7 seconds, $2,724

2. Tyler Waguespack, 3.8 seconds, $2,369

3. Kyle Irwin, 4.0 seconds, $2,013

Bareback riding:

1. Evan Jayne, 83 points on Silver Spurs Club’s Patty, $5,675

2. Tanner Aus, 81.5 points, $4,351

3. (tie) Anthony Thomas and Kody Lamb, 80.5 points, $2,648 each

Team roping:

1. Ross Lowry/Stephen Britnell, 4.6 seconds, $3,438 each

2. Cory Kidd V/Caleb Anderson, 4.9 seconds, $3,076

3. John Alley/Clark Adcock, 5.4 seconds, $2,714

Saddle bronc riding:

1. Chuck Schmidt, 84.5 points on Silver Spurs Club’s Best Hope, $4,935

2. Sterling Crawley, 83.5 points, $3,784

3. (tie) Shane Proctor and Nat Stratton, 81.5 points, $2,303 each

Tie-down roping:

1. Cory Solomon, 7.5 seconds, $2,375

2. Jason Hanchey, 7.6 seconds, $2,125

3. (tie) Fred L Whitfield, Tim Pharr and Brad Hartt, 7.8 seconds, $1,625 each

Barrel racing:

1. Amie Tyre, 15.61 seconds, $2,702

2. Sarah Rose McDonald, 15.70 seconds, $2,296

3. Macy Ford, 15.71 seconds, $1,891

Bull riding:

1. Dylan Hice Vick, 84 points on Silver Spurs Club’s Stinky, $5,868

2. (tie) Kyler Oliver and Ruger Piva, 82 points, $3,912 each

4. Denton Fugate, 80 points, $2,152

Total payoff: $132,271.
