Born and raised in Osceola County, it is only natural that Dave would have the honor of Silver Spurs Big Boss. A fifth generation rancher, Dave grew up with the Silver Spurs Rodeo. His grandfather, Henry O. Partin, was a founding member of the club and donated the land for the very first Silver Spurs Rodeo in 1943. Dave and his wife, Cindy, were initiated into the club in 1977 and have enjoyed being a part of this rodeo family.
Dave, along with his sisters and cousins rode in the “Silver Spurs Quadrille”. Memories include going to the many rodeos and riding in the governors inauguration parade in Tallahassee.
Dave also enjoyed rodeoing, riding bare back broncs and steer wrestling during his high school and college days while being involved with the rodeo club at Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and still gets a little taste of fun rodeoing once a year when he and family members participate in the local Cracker Day Rodeo.
Dave and Cindy have four children; Ben, married to Bekah, Cara, Beth, married to Aaron, Laura and two grandchildren, Sabree & Reeve. All of the kids have been active in participating in the Silver Spurs Rodeo, are members of the club now, and are looking forward to watching the grandkids become involved.
Dave is also a national director of the American Brahman Breeders Association, a past State director of the Florida Cattleman’s Association and has served as the President of the Osceola Cattleman’s Association.
Dave says, “Hope to see you at the rodeo!” |
